Aetiket Label Printer - Epson Printers

I include this information page for my Macintosh customers who have had problems using their Epson printers with Aetiket Label Printer. The problem lies not with Aetiket Label Printer but with the interaction of FileMaker Pro and the Epson printer driver. As such, you may have the same problem trying to print any FileMaker Pro database with your printer. The solution appears to be to update (or even downgrade) your printer driver, or purchase FileMaker Pro 4.0. I draw your attention to the technical notes below provided by Epson and FileMaker on their sites (as of Aug. 3, 1998):
Epson Americas, Inc. www.epson.com Online Technical Support - EPSON Instant Answers The EPSON Connection Claris FileMaker Pro 3.0 is not compatible with our newer version drivers. It is, however compatible with our previous version drivers. FileMaker Pro 3.0 (any revision number) works with 3.0CA
version drivers. Claris has released FileMaker Pro 4.0 which works with
both 3.0CA and 5.0AA version drivers. If you have FileMaker Pro 3.0, you will need to upgrade to FileMaker Pro 4.0 in order to use it with the Stylus COLOR 850, Stylus Photo 700 or Stylus Photo EX and newer printers.
FileMaker Inc. www.filemaker.com Printing Issues with Epson Color Stylus 800 FileMaker Pro 4.x, FileMaker Pro 3.x Platform: Macintosh A variety of applications, including FileMaker Pro, may have issues printing to an Epson Color Stylus 800 with drivers of version 5.0AA. Version 3.X of the Epson driver (specifically 3.0CA) reportedly fixes the printing problem. Note: This only applies to the Epson Color Stylus 800. TechInfo ID: 104745 |
